Frick n Frack

First of all let me start by saying how blessed I am to have so many wonderful people in my life....I often wonder why I am so blessed on those days I am such a hag...but non the less, I am blessed. The last four years here in the cariboo have brought me many blessings, and one of them is a wonderful woman I worked with in the last year Dolores. Now you would have never know that we would like each other if you ever based in our first day of work together....that poor woman went home and wanted to quit!!! Thus me wondering why I am blessed if I can be such a hag lol.
Anyways....if working with one crazy ol bat ( yes that's right D, I called you a crazy ol bat ) isn't enough, well ANOTHER one showed up....and if THAT is not bad enough those two found out that they were born on the SAME day and the SAME year!!!! What are the freakin chances of this happening out in the middle of no where!!!!
Work aside, I was blessed by a very kind women in my life. I have laughed with both of them, and laughed AT both of them LOL.
Today I picked up one and took her to the other for a girl's morning coffee date. The pictures are from our wonderful morning. I just wanted to capture what friendship and kindness looks like no matter who or what age you are!
These two crazy ladies were dubbed Frick and Frack at work.....they truly were two pea's in a pod!!!

This is Robbie, he is named after Robert Plant!

It's never been determined who is oldest or the shortest!

Frick and Frack catching up on some good ol gossip
Dolores spoiling me with Starbucks latte made by HER!! She should have been a Barista!!!
Taking in the beautiful view
THANK YOU DOLORES FOR BEING MY GATEWAY TO STARBUCKS TODAY!!!! lol

And so our new journey begins!!!

Carmangay is a village in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located 62 kilometres (39 mi) north of Lethbridge and 150 kilometres (93 mi) south of Calgary, along the Canadian Pacific Railway, east of Highway 23. It takes its name from C.W. Carman, who bought 1,500 acres (6.1 km2) to grow wheat in 1904, and his wife, Gertrude Gay.
Carmangay is the site of the Carmangay Tipi Rings - archaeological tipi ring site, documenting the existence of Clovis people as far back as 11,000 years in this area.[2]

THIS IS WHERE OUR NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so very very excited for our new journey to begin, and it will begin in April. We bought a house, have not a clue who we will be residing next too, know nothing of the area really and look forward to being in our OWN home finally.
We have to wait for our daughter to graduate before we can make the full transition to our new home, and for this we are kinda happy, that we will be able to take our time with this move and that it won't be a big rush, but nice and gradual.

Road trip finds

Potash mines in Saskatchewan are HUGE....on our trip we passed 6 huge ones on the main highway...I have no clue how many more there actually are, but this is a MASSIVE money maker for the Scachatonians lol.

Also along the way on our trip we saw some bazaar things along the road that I am sure are normal to people out there, but they are not normal to me....hence why I have renamed them to my liking. When one is stuck in a vehicle for long periods of time, one has to entertain themselves....so as I was staring at these for hours at a time as we passed them I got to thinking....what if in fact these things belonged to aliens and they were spaced just right all over the place to suck all of our knowledge into them...then I realized.....oh yeah...I am in Saskatchewan LOL...I renamed them "eyepods"....not the kind my kids know about though lol....so for the remainder of the trip....I would make statements such as "oh look, another eyepod" lol. The look like a eyeball on a tripod....therefore becoming a "eyepod" lol

The next picture is of what we found in farmers fields in Saskatchewan....this is their way of advertising. They take two large round hay bales, put them on top of each other and them wrap the beer ads around them....good marketing, and funny as hell to see in the fields quite frankly....I can't even imagine who and how they came up with that idea lol.

The next picture I have NO explanation for...we just saw this truck parked on the side of the road in small Alberta town somewhere, I wish I remember, but when you've been in so many town in 8 days it really is just all a blur. Anyways, we just wonder what the hell this guy is thinking lol. Click on the picture to make it bigger and you too will shake your head LOL

These next few pics are from the small Alberta town of Drumheller. We spent the night there and in the morning I had the most fantastic buckwheat pancakes at this small hole in the wall restaurant....if you are ever there...it's a must that you go to Wifs!

The great thing about traveling in the winter is that there are NO tourists dumb enough like us to be out and about in these areas like us....so you get them all to yourself! I didn't have to worry about anybody getting in the way of my dino shot here at all.

Real Estate Agents...a dieing art!

Over the last eight days of travel that are now done.....we have met quiet a few real estate agents. Only ONE out of them all, was professional, not annoying, respectful, helpful, delightful, honest, willing to go the extra mile etc. The list could go on with that particular one, but as far as the others....well....it really just blew our minds at the lack of professionalism, lack of care, pretty much the lack of any skills really.
I have discovered that selling a house is becoming a dieing art, and that there are some out there that are NOT good at it.
I supposed we have been spoiled by have the most wonderful experience with one out here in the Cariboo when we first moved here. And because this couple was so great to us, I am going to mention them here.
There name is Ingrid and Gerhard Berger from Century21 Seaside Realty Ltd(100 Mile)!
When we started out expedition our here they went ABOVE AND BEYOND what they had to do, and because of that, we would use them over and over and over, and we tell EVERYONE, if your moving to the Cariboo.....CALL THEM!
Not only are they the most AMAZING Realtors, they are amazing people, who CARE, and this seems to be lost in the real estate world I have found. I am not saying ALL Realtors are like that, but let me tell you, over eight days, I have seen and experience some real crappy ones, so yes, I have the right to say what I am saying.
So since I am plugging some Realtors here, I would also like to plug my cousin who is as well a kick ass realtor out in the Toronto area, so if you are ever out that a way...you should contact Cam at Bosley Real Estate Ltd., Brokerage.
He too will go above and beyond for you and your needs, because he too CARES. Like I said, it seems to have become and art to sell a house, and these ones know how!!!
We have not made up our mind on which house we are going to choose, we don't want to make a hasty decision, we want to really think it through.
Once we know, the world will know, cause I will be so excited!!!

Again, you need a house in any of these two places, these are the two to contact...NOW GO BUY A HOUSE lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Road trip observations, findings and experiences!

- Got stopped in Banff AB on the beginning of our trip by the RCMP because my seat was leaning to far back, and when the officer came to my passenger side window, and I put my seat up, I scolded him for waking me up from the best sleep ever since I had just come off a graveyard shift....to which he was shocked that I had the gull to scold him lol. He then proceeded to tell us our mudflaps were not long enough for the province of Alberta...to which I replied..WHAT!!!!! lol.....we were not ticketed, as I believe he was probably afraid for his life lol.
- People in SK are so much more friendlier, like almost on the verge of annoying type friendly lol
- Farmers in SK plow the snow off of their fields, and I believe this is weird lol
- No one in SK has any clue about the internet and that my husband could make a lot of money off of them lol
- Driving the back roads in the Alberta's farmers fields because the GPS says so is also the most frightening thing to do with a husband who thinks it's fun to do that at 120 km/hr!
- When at the end of the farmers field road that GPS told us to take, one has to undo the fence and then put it back up...hmmmm, they should at least prepare you for this you'd think lol
- Old houses with dirt basements terrify me, as I think in my head all the ants and crawly things are coming into the house in record speeds ALL the time LOL
- My husband wants to trade his boat to a farmer for the use of the farmers combine tractor to make a snow race track way out in the farmers field for winter racing....again....I just shake my head.
- We discovered that almost all of the small micro towns in SK that have motels require you to check in at the pub or watering hole across the road, or you have to call the owner and he comes down to the motel from his place across the micro town taking 2.5 minutes. There is no such thing as an office lol
- Everywhere in SK there is a CO OP, and I was finally explained what and why it's here and why it's so popular.
- I now know why my brother HATED driving in his big rig on the SK hyws...it's because of the frost heaves and after 4 hrs of driving on them myself, I wanted to get out and punch them lol
- There are sooooo many towns I loved, but just didn't find the perfect home....yet.
- I miss how majestic the sunrise and sunsets are in the flat lands.
- Hand waving on all side roads is REQUIRED lol

These are a SMALL fraction of many....I might add some more later :-)

Beginning of a beautiful road trip

We arrived in Calgary Alberta on our first night, where I was able to see my son. Oh how I loved wrapping my arms around him and hugging him. Feels so good to get a big hug from my son!!!!!
We used to spend hours and hours together talking about the days goings on, or talking about life theories. Now he is all grown up, living in the big city, living with friends and living life, and I am so proud of him!
So after a great evening dinner with him, we went back to my sisters house and fell fast asleep, as we had been driving for 10 or so hours, and I had just come off of working a graveyard shift. In the morning we were up and at em early heading for southern Alberta.
We stopped in a town called Vulcan. This is home of the "Trek Station". This is where we took this photo...cause I just had too lol.
After some time in southern Alberta it was on to southern Saskatchewan....and we had a great rest of the day there. As the sun was setting it looked so beautiful.
Tomorrow we trek further on into Saskatchewan, can hardly wait for more adventures, we are having such a great time together, me and the hubster!!!

Reflecting

Well it's been 4 years ago this week that we moved to the Cariboo from Alberta. I look back at pictures and giggle with how excited we were with our first lil shit shack. How to us it was AWESOME.....we were so blissfully blind and happy, and I have to say, it really was the craziest 4 years of our lives and I wouldn't change a thing!
I am reflecting as we will take a new journey....but this time we will be armed with experience and knowledge. Aging does have it's advantages, you get wiser....look freakin older but dammit, I swear we are wiser LOL.
The house had approx 3000 books left behind in it...yes we STILL have them all!

Just so happy to be cleaning the fridge, even if it was disgusting, at least it was ours! lol

So much snow we couldn't get into our newly owned property, had to hire a big machine to come dig us out!

Ah yes...more books, did I mention we did a lot of reading the first two weeks lol

Just the name of our road alone was a selling point to us LMAO
The experiences we had in the first two weeks alone in that place are mind boggling, and I could write a post 10 pages long just explaining all of that, but there's no point, I'd rather write a book and publish it as a comedy best seller lol!
So, on to new adventures....but wiser ones now :-)
